Visita al Montsant / Visit to the Montsant

Primera visita a estas fantásticas montañas situadas cerca del límite entre Lleida y Tarragona y que forman parte de la red de Parques Naturales de Cataluña desde 2002.

First visit to these wonderful mountains located near Lleida and Tarragona's limit. They are part of the Catalonia's Natural Park net since 2002.

I Round Open Slalom Drift 2013 - Juneda, Lleida

Este fin de semana  (6 y 7 de Abril) se ha celebrado la primera de las siete pruebas del Open Slalom Drift 2013. Ha sido en el circuito de Juneda, a 20 minutos de Lleida y ha contado con la participación de una treintena de conductores divididos en dos categorias diferentes.

Quiero dar las gracias a la organización del evento, GrupSpeed al facilitarme la entrada y poder disfrutar del Arte del Drift, ¡Os lo recomiendo!

This weekend, 6th and 7th April, was held the first of seven tests of the  Slalom Drift Open 2013. It has been in the Juneda's track, 20 minutes from Lleida city, and it has had the participation of thirty drivers divided into two different categories.

I want to thank the event organizers, GrupSpeed, to let me into and enjoying the Art of Drifting, I recommend it!

Vuelta Ciclista a Cataluña 2013, llegada a Lleida

Esta tarde hemos podido ver la llegada de los corredores que participan en la Vuelta Ciclista a Cataluña 2013  (Volta Ciclista a Catalunya).
En su quinta etapa, los participantes han salido de Rialp, en los Pirineos leridanos, con el sprint final en Lleida capital, 156,5km. François Parisien (Canada) ha sido el ganador mientras que Daniel Martin (Ireland), lider de la general, ha sumado 4 segundos más de ventaja con respecto al segundo clasificado, Joaquim Rodríguez (Spain).

This afternoon it has seen the arrival of the runners participating in the Tour of Catalonia 2013 (Volta Ciclista a Catalunya).
In the fifth stage, the start was in Rialp in Lleida's Pirinees and the end in Lleida city, 156.5 km. François Parisien (Canada) has been the winner while Daniel Martin (Ireland), overall leader, has added more than 4 seconds of advantage over second placed Joaquim Rodriguez (Spain).

Nieve y más nieve en la Vall d'Aran / Snow and more snow on the Aran Valley

Subo una de las últimas fotos de la Vall d'Aran, (tomada hace unos 20 días) mientras me recupero de una luxación de hombro por una caída que me impide coger la cámara.

Today I show one of the last photos of the Vall d'Aran, (it was taken 20 days ago) while I'm recovering from a fall down causing me a shoulder dislocation (luxation) and makes me unable to take photographs.

34ª Marxa Beret 2013, Beret, La Vall d'Aran

El domingo pasado 03 de Febrero de 2013 se celebró la 34ª Marcha de Beret, en el Pla de Beret, situado a 1850 metros de altura en el Valle de Arán (La Vall d'Aran). Un total de 850 esquiadores finalizaron los distintos recorridos de 10km, 21km y 42km. La nevada de la noche previa a la marcha (más de 30 cm de nieve nueva) hizo variar parte del recorrido debido al peligro de avalancha en algunos tramos para no comprometer la seguridad de los participantes.

Last Sunday February, 3rd 2013 was held the 34th march of Beret in 'El Pla de Beret', located at 1850 meters high in the Aran Valley (La Vall d'Aran). A total of 850 skiers completed various tracks of 10km, 21km and 42km. The night before the event was snowing (more than 30 cm of new snow) and the tracks were changed due to avalanche danger in some sections to avoid endangering the safety of participants.

Sprint Salomon 2013, Beret, La Vall d'Aran

Sprint Salomon 2013, celebrado en el Pla de Beret, la Vall d'Aran en pleno Pirineo de Lleida el 02 de Febrero de 2013, ante unas condiciones complicadas a causa del viento y la nieve.
El estado de la pistas y espesor de nieve en general es inmejorable en todo el Pirineo dado las últimas nevadas caidas, presentando en torno al doble de espesor que el año pasado por estas mismas fechas.

Salomon Sprint 2013, held in el Pla de Beret, the Aran Valley, in the Lleida's Pyrenees on February 2, 2013, in complicated conditions due the wind and snow.

Very good track conditions and snow depth throughout the Pyrenees since the last snowfalls, with around twice snow thickness than the last year on the same dates.

Duatlón de Alpicat 2013 / Alpicat Duathlon 2013

Esta mañana se ha celebrado la VII Duatlón de Alpicat, Lleida, como punto final a unas jornadas dedicadas al deporte en el ámbito de las fiestas del pueblo en honor a su patrón, San Sebastián.

Con unos 150 participantes, el ganador terminó la prueba en 1h 14m 18s, de los cuales 33m fueron corriendo y casi 42m en mountain bike (aproximado).

This morning has been held the VII Alpicat Duathlon in Alpicat, a small town beside Lleida city as the end of a few days dedicated to the sport because of the celebrations in honour to its Saint, Saint Sebastian.

With about 150 participants, the winner of the event did it in 1h 14m 18s, which 33m were running and 42m cycling in btt (more or less).

Edinburgh Castle, Scotland / Castillo de Edimburgo, Escocia

La semana pasada el Castillo de Edimburgo fue descubierto y visitado sin ningún coste y por todo el público que quiso, debido a las celebraciones del patrón de la ciudad, San Andrew.

Last week the Edinburgh Castle was discovered and visited for free by the general public who wanted, because of the St Andrew's celebrations.

Snow near Edinburgh / Nieve cerca de Edimburgo

Esta noche ha estado nevando cerca de Edimburgo e incluso algunas zonas de la ciudad estaban nevadas. Hoy os muestro un par de fotos del paisaje que podemos ver si salimos unas pocas millas de la ciudad.

This night has been snowing very near Edinburgh and even there was a few snow in some areas of the city. Today I show a couple of photos about the scenary we can see if we go out a few miles from the city.
